Delmar is in the rare position of being located on the border of Delaware and Maryland, giving it its motto "The Little Town Too Big for One State”. In Delmar you will find 3rd Wave, the only all female owned brewery in Maryland and Delaware, where there are between 9-14 beers on tap at all times. Dover is the capital city of Delaware, and also the second largest city in the state. It is located on the St Jones River, which flows into the Delaware Bay, and there are boat ramps along the river allowing the visitor to enjoy fishing, crabbing, bird watching and boating activities. Dover Airforce Base is home to the Air Mobility Command Museum which houses vintage aircraft and a complete set of all significant Lockheed air lifters used by the Air Force and Army since World War II. When visiting Dover, be sure to stop by Fordham and Dominion Brewing Company where you can take a tour of their brewery and try one of their handcrafted beers and sodas.
Georgetown is the county seat of Sussex County, the largest most southernly county in Delaware. Instead of the more traditional square, the town was constructed around a circle, which has the Town Hall, state and county buildings, and the historic Sussex County Courthouse built around it. Georgetown has some unique shops, including craft barns and antique shops. Considered “16 miles from anywhere” it is the home to 16 Mile Brewery , a local craft beer brewery located in a historic, converted barn with a tasting room which is open 7 days a week .
